MY JOURNEY

As someone who had an epic and harrowing fertility journey, I KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE! It took me 7 years to have my son. I had 6 miscarriages, surgery for endometriosis and multiple other procedures.  I was eventually diagnosed with complex immune and blood clotting factors that made it incredibly challenging to find a way to carry a pregnancy to term.  At one point, I even attempted pregnancy with donor eggs which aggravated my autoimmunity even more--eventually my own egg did the trick!  I went down many paths and came up against what at times felt like insurmountable barriers.  All the while dealing with un-empathetic doctors and friends and family who despite their best efforts, just couldn’t understand what I was going through.

Ultimately, I found caring practitioners and fellow fertility warriors and experienced the world of difference this support made.

MY APPROACH

I work from a women-identified centered approach with a strong feminist lens.

I am deeply trauma-informed and use tools that I have acquired through Gestalt psychotherapy training, Somatic Experiencing training and Narrative Therapy training.

As well as integrating and ceremony and ritual that I have developed through my personal healing and spiritual journey.

MY TRAINING

My undergraduate degree is in Women and Gender Studies, followed by Masters courses in Couple and Family Therapy and then a Post-graduate program in Gestalt Psychotherapy.  I am currently training in Somatic Experiencing Trauma therapy. I weave all of my training into my work and am committed to ongoing professional development.

MY LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK AND FERTILITY

I live in Toronto with my son and partner and standard poodle and when I’m not supporting folks on the parenting path or working in my therapy practice, I love to write, swim, study Hebrew, cooking (mostly Mediterranean and Eastern European food) and drinking good wine with friends!
